What are cookies?
Cookies and similar technologies such as local storage are small pieces of data saved by your browser. They help websites work, remember preferences, and — for advertising — measure and personalise ads.
Essential storage (always on)
- Application draft — saves your answers on your device so you don't lose progress. Removed when you submit.
- Submission marker — remembers that you've applied, so we can let you know if you try to apply twice.
- Consent choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies.
This data stays in your browser and is not used to track you across other websites.
Advertising cookies (optional)
We use Google AdSense to show ads on informational pages. If you select Accept all, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you select Essential only, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use limited cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.
Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Managing cookies
You can change your choice at any time using the button above or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, although some features — such as saving your draft — may stop working.
